Biography
Leon Pijnenburg studeerde sociologie en filosofie in Tilburg en is universitair docent bij de leerstoelgroep Toegepaste Filosofie van Wageningen Universiteit en Research Centrum (WUR). Zijn onderwijsactiviteiten liggen vooral op het gebied van de wetenschapsfilosofie en de ethiek. Leon.Pijnenburg@wur.nl
Annemarie Mol is een dag per week Socrates-hoogleraar Politieke Filosofie aan de Universiteit van Twente. Ze werkt op dit moment vier dagen per week aan het project Good information, good food dat wordt gefinancierd door NWO in het kader van het programma Ethiek, Onderzoek en Bestuur. A.Mol@gw.utwente.nl
Judith Vega (1956) is universitair docent sociale en politieke filosofie aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Ze doet onderzoek naar filosofische en culturele verbeeldingen van de stad in het kader van het door NWO gesubsidieerde project New media, public sphere and urban culture, uitgevoerd door de vakgroep Praktische Filosofie van de Groningse Faculteit Wijsbegeerte. Ze publiceert regelmatig over onderwerpen op het snijvlak van politiek en cultuur. In 2005 verscheen haar Isabelle de Charrière en de kritiek van de Verlichting. Yolande Jansen is an Associate Professor at the department of philosophy and the Amsterdam Centre for Globalization Studies of the University of Amsterdam. She is also a Socrates Professor at the VU University, where she holds the chair for 'humanism in relation to religion and secularity'. Her publications include Secularism, Assimilation and the Crisis of Multiculturalism: French Modernist Legacies (Amsterdam University Press/IMISCOE, 2013) and The Irregularization of Migration in contemporary Europe; Detention, Deportation, Drowning (Rowman and Littlefield, co-edited with Robin Celikates and Joost de Bloois, 2015). Areas of research are social and political philosophy, in particular critical theory, pluralism, multiculturalism and democracy; genealogies of secularism, humanism and religion; irregularised migration; Judaism and Islam in Europe; Islam in Europe; and French culture and literature, in particular the work of Marcel Proust. Jansen is the principal investigator of the NWO-project 'Critique of Religion; Framing Jews and Muslims, Islam and Judaism in political theory and public debate' along with co-applicant Thijl Sunier.
René Gabriëls is editor of Krisis and works at Maastricht University
Pieter Pekelharing used to teach at the University of Amsterdam. He has just retired. With two co-authors he recently published a book on the power of the megacorporation, De macht van de megaonderneming, Van Gennep, 2016, which is currently being translated into Spanish and Portuguese. An English translation is in the making. His current interests are focused on the politics of higher education and the relationship between science and democracy. He is also working on a publication of his lectures on the history of philosophy.
Herman Van Gunsteren (1940) is hoogleraar politieke theorieën en rechtsfilosofie aan de universiteit Leiden. Auteur van The quest for control (1976), Culturen van besturen (1994), A theory of citizenship (1998), Stoppen: U kunt het, U wilt het, U doet het niet (2002), Woordenschat voor verwarde politici (2003), Gevaarlijk veilig: terreurbestrijding in de democratie (2004), Vertrouwen in democratie (2006). Murat Aydemir is ‘university teacher’ in Comparative Literature and Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam, and ‘research leader’ at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA).
Amadeus de Koning (1979) heeft cultuurwetenschappen gestudeerd aan de Universiteit Maastricht. Momenteel is hij als docent verbonden aan de capaciteits- groep Wijsbegeerte van de Faculteit der Cultuur- en Maatschappijwetenschappen te Maastricht. Daarnaast studeert hij wijsbegeerte aan de Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen en bereidt hij een promotie voor over de toepasbaarheid van sociale systeemtheorie in de religiewetenschappen. amd.dekoning@xs4all.nl
