Willem Witteveen

Willem Witteveen is hoogleraar rechtstheorie en retorica aan Tilburg University en lid van de Eerste Kamer voor de PvdA. Hij publiceert over onderwerpen op het grensvlak van recht en politiek en werkt aan een geschiedenis van de politieke theorie over wetgeving en samenleving. De bijdrage aan dit nummer van Krisis is gebaseerd op een cursus over Calvi- no die hij in het najaar van 2012 gaf aan Venice International University.

Govert den Hartogh

Govert den Hartogh is hoogleraar Ethiek aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Op het gebied van de medische ethiek houdt hij zich vooral bezig met morele kwesties rond het levenseinde. Daarnaast publiceert hij over thema's op het gebied van de rechtsfilosofie (Mutual expectations. A conventionalist theory of law, Kluwer 2002), de politieke filosofie en de handelingstheorie (The authority of intention, Ethics 2004). Ido de Haan is professor of political history at Utrecht University. He is currently supervising a research project on the history of neoliberalism in the Netherlands (neoliberalisme.nl). Jacques Bos studeerde geschiedenis, politieke wetenschappen en wijsbegeerte aan de Universiteit Leiden en promoveerde in 2003 aan dezelfde universiteit. Momenteel doceert hij wetenschapsfilosofie (met de nadruk op filosofie van de geesteswetenschappen) bij de Afdeling Wijsbegeerte van de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Daarnaast is hij directeur van het Onderwijsinstituut Wijsbegeerte.

René Boomkens

René Boomkens (1954) is full professor social and cultural philosophy at the University of Groningen. In his research he focusses on the social and cultural philosophy of modernity, interpreted as modern experience, with special attention to the crucial role of the city and of urban culture.

Veit Bader

Veit Bader is a professsor of sociology (department of political and sociocultural sciences) and of social and political philosophy (department of philosophy) at the University of Amsterdam. His main research areas are: theories of societies, social movements and collective action; theories of modern capitalisms; ethics of migration and incorporation; citizenship and associative democracy.
