Biografie

Ruth Benschop

Ruth Benschop werkt als senior onderzoeker bij het Lectoraat Autonomie en Openbaarheid in de Kunsten, Hogeschool Zuyd, te Maastricht. Daar probeert ze haar achtergrond in wetenschaps- en techniekonderzoek te vertalen naar de kunsten. Ze houdt zich onder meer bezig met etnografisch onderzoek van en door kunstenaars en met artistiek onderzoek.

Peter Peters

Peter Peters is assistant professor at the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Maastricht University and professor in the research centre ‘Autonomy and the public sphere in the Arts’ of Zuid University, Maastricht. He has published Time, Innovation and Mobilities (Routledge, 2006). In the 1990s, he was editor of the Dutch journal Mens en Melodie and published Zoeken naar het ongehoorde (1994) and Eeuwige Jeugd: Een halve eeuw Stichting Gaudeamus (1995). Vivian van Saaze

Vivian van Saaze holds a Master’s degree in Arts and Social Sciences from Maastricht University. Since 2001 she has participated in several research projects concerning the presentation and preservation of contemporary art carried out by the Foundation for the Conservation of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Netherlands Institute for Cultural Heritage, and the Netherlands Media Art Institute/Montevideo. Her PhD research, a collaboration between the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Maastricht University and the Netherlands Institute for Cultural Heritage (ICN) is an ethnographic study into the working practices of contemporary art museums involved with the presentation and preservation of installation artworks.

Matthijs Versteegh

Matthijs Versteegh holds a B.Sc in Health Sciences and an MA (Cum Laude) in the European program in Science & Technology Studies, both from Maastricht University. The case study of this paper is based on his 2006 master thesis: Paint in action: The emergence of facts in art research. Matthijs Versteegh is currently employed by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Amsterdam

Henk Borgdorff

Henk Borgdorff is lector Kunsttheorie en onderzoek aan de Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten en als onderzoeker verbonden aan de Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten en het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. Borgdorff is medevoorzitter van de onderzoekgroep ARTI (Artistic Research, Theory and Innovation) aan de AHK, waar hij practice-based onderzoeksprojecten van medewerkers en gastonderzoekers begeleidt. Hij heeft ondermeer gepubliceerd over Immanuel Kants muziekesthetiek, Theodor W. Adorno, Donald Davidson en over de filosofische en politieke rationale van artistiek onderzoek. Zijn belangstelling gaat uit naar de epistemologie van artistiek onderzoek, muziekfilosofie en kritiek van de metafysica.

Koen Beumer

Koen Beumer is als promovendus verbonden aan de afdeling Technology and Society Studies, Universiteit Maastricht. Zijn proefschrift bespreekt de omgang met nanotechnologie in India, Zuid Afrika en Kenia.

Gijs van Oenen

Gijs van Oenen is universitair docent aan de Faculteit der Wijsbegeerte van de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam en lid van de redactie van Krisis.

Theo W.A. de Wit

Dr. Theo W.A. de Wit (1953) is als Universitair Docent sociaal-politieke filosofie en cultuurfilosofie verbonden aan de Faculteit Katholieke Theologie van de Universiteit van Tilburg. Hij schreef een proefschrift over de politieke filosofie van Carl Schmitt (De onontkoombaarheid van de politiek, Nijmegen 1992). Zijn huidige aandachtsvelden zijn democratie en macht, politiek en religie, en multiculturaliteit en tolerantie.

Christophe Andrades

Christophe Andrades is docent cultuurwetenschappen aan de Universiteit Maastricht.

Guus Dix

Guus Dix studied philosophy and sociology at the University of Amsterdam. As a lecturer and PhD candidate he is currently teaching courses in the philosophy of (social) science. He started a PhD-project on the intricate relationship between economic science and market-oriented policy in the Netherlands. First results of his research can be found in an article on the market for job placement services, ‘Interveniërende voorwaarden’ in Beleid en Maatschappij.

Ton Groeneweg

Ton Groeneweg works for the development agency CMC Mensen met een Missie (www.cmc.nu) on issues relating to religious identity.
